Still looking at some moisture and instability around for a few scattered showers this afternoon. The snow level will remain above 7,000 feet throughout the day, lowering to near 6,000 feet this evening as colder air filters into the region. Cool and windy today with highs in the 40s, south to southwest winds gusting 15-30 mph at times, decreasing this afternoon. We have received around a tenth to a quarter inch of rain across most areas, nearly a half inch at the dam, with just a dusting of snow above 8,000 feet. Total rainfall amounts should generally remain under a half inch, with locally an inch possible on the lower coastal slopes. Showers will taper off by tonight with partly cloudy skies on Thursday. Though residual moisture could still generate a few isolated showers tomorrow afternoon. Highs will remain in the 40s with overnight lows generally in the 20s. Fair and a little warmer weather is expected Friday and Saturday as a transitional ridge builds across the region. Our next major series of storms is forecast to arrive on Sunday with snow, possibly heavy at times early next week. This should be a much colder series of storms with the snow level falling as low as 3,000-4,000 feet. Preliminary estimates are still advertising around 1-2 feet snow, possibly more at resort level.
